Основным вариантом на сегодняшний день является мутационная теория. Выявление системы генных мутаций, в том числе и в митохондриях, приводящих к тому или иному виду опухолей, сделали возможным разработку персонализированной так называемой таргетной терапии злокачественных опухолей.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Causes and mechanisms of cancer development are currently one of the urgent problems of medicine. The main variant for today is the mutation theory.
