Current methods for assessing left ventricular diastolic function in echocardiography: an analysis of the 2024 British Society of Echocardiography clinical guidelines
https://doi.org/10.20340/vmi-rvz.2026.2.PROT.1
Abstract
The manuscript presents an analysis of the current 2024 clinical guidelines of the British Society of Echocardiography for assessing left ventricular diastolic function, based on ejection fraction and the presence of cardiovascular diseases. It compares the new approaches and methods described in the document with clinical guidelines and consensus publications from the European Society of Cardiology and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. Practical recommendations for the application of the proposed new algorithms and the development of a final echocardiography protocol are provided.
